Advantages of indoor mini drone

Compared to large-size fpv drone, mini indoor fpv drone have the following advantages:

  • The frame is often made of polyester plastic with a protective outer ring, which is more flexible and less likely to break if blown up.

But the shortcomings of the miniature indoor fpv are also many, limited by the power of the miniature traversing machine outdoor wind resistance is poor, and can not be loaded with aerial cameras. Part of the flight control map and remote control reception range is limited, not suitable for long-distance flight. Fewer jacks on the flight control, the hardware expansion space is more limited.

The common wheelbase of indoor fpv are 65mm and 75mm. The larger wheelbase is relatively better in range and power, but the overall difference is not significant. The pursuit of extreme volume can choose 65mm, if the flight environment is more open can choose 75mm.

·KV of a Motor

The kV value of the motor can be used to calculate the no-load speed of the motor per minute at a certain voltage. Using the indoor unit 1S battery rating of 3.7V as an example, the motor speed at 19000kV is calculated as follows:
Motor no-load speed = 3.7V x 19000kV = 70300 rpm.

The larger the kV value of the motor the more violent it is, the higher the kV value of the motor’s voltage is too high and easy to overheat or even burn. For entry players, just choose a 19000kV motor.

The motor size of the miniature indoor unit is mainly 08XX. The number 08 represents the diameter of the motor stator is 8 mm. The motor base usually has three fixing holes, and you need to pay attention to whether it matches with the frame.

·Flight Controller

The indoor flight control usually supports direct motor plugging and is very easy to assemble. We recommend newcomers to purchase the flight control with integrated image transmitter and remote control receiver module directly.

·Camera

The installation aperture of the indoor camera is usually 14mm, and the lens diameter varies from 1.8mm to 2.2mm. The smaller the lens, the larger the viewing angle, but the more serious the image distortion. Viewing angle is generally between 150 degrees ~ 170 degrees. Newcomers are recommended to choose a larger range of wide-angle lens.

Micro indoor unit options and settings

In the optional mini indoor unit, you can choose either the RTF (to hand fly) package or the whole unit, which is ready to use after pairing with the remote control. Of course, if you have confidence in your own hands, you can also try to assemble it yourself.

We strongly recommend that after being able to master the flying skills, you will be able to disassemble the aircraft yourself, both to familiarize yourself with the composition of the crossing machine, but also to facilitate subsequent maintenance or upgrade. Download the Betaflight

Betaflight configuration software, also known as ground station or BF, is named because it runs in a computer or smart device on the ground side, and is the most mainstream configuration software for traversers at present.

After downloading, the following configuration needs to be done. After the configuration is completed, you need to click Save in the bottom right corner of the interface.

  • Connect the traverser to the computer via USB cable
  • Start the Betaflight ground station, select the COM port of the aircraft and click Connect
  • Place the aircraft horizontally and click IMU calibration
  • Go to the RC channel interface and set the channel arrangement to Frsky mode

Remote Control Pairing

Start the remote control, go to the model interface, enable the built-in signal transmitting HF head (Internal RF) of the remote control, and select Frsky D,D8 protocol.
After connecting the traverser to the computer via USB cable, click the pairing button near the edge of the flight control, the indicator on the flight control will change from flashing red to constant and enter pairing mode.
Select BND (pairing) in the remote control interface.
When you toggle the remote control’s telemetry or toggle, you can see the change of value on each channel.

Graphical transmission to frequency

Connect the flight control to the computer via USB cable and test if it functions properly.
